A close friend

When Sally moved to Dilly Lane, my husband Paul and I lived very close.  So I got to know Sally really well.  Particularly when she ended up with Dexter, a very naughty cat who I had previously had on trial from the Lymington Cats and Kitten Rescue, and sent back after two weeks for bad behaviour.

Sally had quite a time with Dexter, but learnt to forgive his errant ways.

We used to pick Sally up for the Parkinson Meetings and on one occasion she very kindly let Paul borrow her motorised scooter, although he could not get the hang of it.  Sally was very helpful and kind with advice when Paul got worse.

When Paul died in March 2022, of Parkinsons's, Sally arranged to come to his funeral in Surrey.  it was very kind of her and an amazing  achievement.  She had someone to drive her.

We moved to Reigate, Surrey in 2017 but kept a flat in New Milton so I used to still se a lot of Sally.

But we had another connection. When Sally was in the Reigate area, being a keen Conservative, she used to campaign for Crispin Blunt, the Conservative MP.  She knew him well.  He is still an MP but resigning at the next General election and my daughter in law, Rebecca Paul has been selected to take his place as the  Conservative MP, assuming she is elected.  I used to talk to Sally about this, even quite recently.

She was a lovely lady, always cheerful, good company  and pleased to see me.  And I loved her bungalow in Dilly Lane.
